Self care and work-life balance have a symbiotic relationship. Employees need both to achieve peak performance at work, at play, and at home. When they are able to strike a balance between work and their life outside of it, they come closer to being emotionally, physically and mentally fit.

In 2021, Human Edge undertook a five month program at KPMG to improve the well-being of its partners, and help them achieve a work-life balance. Participants were taught how to prioritize their health and maintain a work life balance.

Methodology

The five-month program was customized for 123 KPMG partners, who during that time span learnt how to prioritize self care, maintain work-life balance, and enhance their energy levels under the guidance of Edge Expert Dr. Marcus Ranney.

The Human Edge Solution

The program was spread across nine stages that began with a pre-program assessment and ended with post-intervention diagnostics and impact report. Knowledge building, community building, leveraging content assets to create pathways for behavior change, and celebrating wins and problem-solving for challenges were a few components of the program.

1. The first step was to assess the current health and wellbeing of the leaders based on the three pillars of the program. On the basis of this foundational diagnostic test, individual scorecards for the leaders as well as a summary report on the well-being of the cohort was generated. 

2. Based on the assessment done, people were divided into three groups each aimed at improving the most challenging aspect for them. Human Edge created different WhatsApp groups, each featuring a 21 day-challenge aimed at improving one of three themes.

Insight and Results

The participants reported an average impact of 16% post the program. They also reported: 15% positive impact on energy levels and 19% positive impact on work-life harmony.
